The main direction of the laboratory's scientific activity is the study of the fundamental quantum properties of low-dimensional systems such as:
High mobility two-dimensional electron gas
Topological insulators and two-dimensional semimetals
Quantum wires, interferometers and dots
Thin superconducting films
2D materials
In particular, in these systems, special attention is paid to the study of such phenomena as the Ahronov-Bohm effect, quantum Hall effect, quantum spin Hall effect, Coulomb blockade, dynamic chaos, Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition, Anderson localization, metal-insulator and superconductor-insulator transitions.
